US Assistant Choreographer

Jena VanElslander

Jena VanElslander (@jenavanel) is honored to be among this brilliant team of creatives as she returns to Broadway for the third time—but her first as an assistant choreographer! Jena is a multifaceted artist and athlete originally from Ontario, Canada, and was most recently seen performing as the MJ Avatar in the 1st National Tour of Jagged Little Pill (directed by Diane Paulus/choreographed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui). Career highlights include: Broadway: Life of Pi (Ensemble) and King Kong (Ensemble/Puppeteer/Swing; Chita Rivera Award for Outstanding Ensemble). TV/Film: West World, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Bollywood/Hollywood. Other: A Chorus Line (Cassie), Rock of Ages (Las Vegas; Constance Sack) and The Jack Cole Project (NY Times standout). Creative favorites: PHISH (assist. director/choreographer, MSG), Rock of Ages (associate choreographer, Chicago), Tony Awards opening number (Japan broadcast, choreographer). Deepest love and gratitude to my family, friends, my partner Dominique, and to Sofia and Rebecca at CESD. Your support and belief in me are the only reason I am a part of this remarkable team at Cabaret. We did it!!!
